Thirty local CEOs, executives and members of Shirebiz, attended an invite-only CEO Breakfast at Cronulla RSL, where they heard from Glen Stevens, former RBA Governor and current Macquarie Bank Chairman.
Glen discussed the role of COVID-19 in shaping current economic outcomes and looked historically at productivity, economic policy and interest rates. He also discussed current issues including the role of climate change and economics and the current environment in which businesses operate.
Following Glen’s presentation, there was a Q&A session. Jo Ryan from Infodec Communications and Shirebiz Board facilitated a discussion focused on understanding opportunities and challenges facing Shire businesses. Participants raised various issues, notably the impact of the weather on the building and construction industry and the difficulty in finding and retaining skilled workers and their approach to work.
